Is A Healthy Weight Loss Plan Really This Easy?

June 21, 2008 By: PF Category: Weight Loss No Comments →

As the world’s population begins to swell, it is confronted with a growing problem. This issue is known as obesity, a slow killer that affects millions worldwide. There are a multitude of reasons why this is a growing concern. The first problem is that we are often busy and neglect to consume balanced meals at regular intervals. Our schedules take from fast food restaurant’s to the vending machines at our places of work in an attempt to keep our bodies going. A second problem is that our often times crazy schedules do not permit us to exercise as we should. If you want to experience a healthy weight loss plan, there is a method that is sure to be able to help you.

Following a healthy weight loss plan involves a bit of proactive decision making to make it effective. If your the type that never sees anything through then this may not be for you. The plan involves a 2 part approach that begins with a cleansing period and is directly followed with a sensible diet. This process will help you to shed pounds quickly and to keep them off for the rest of your life.

The most effective way to begin this healthy weight loss plan is with a total cleanse. There are plenty of cleansing diet’s/programs available and accessible for free online. This cleanse can be performed in a 3 to 10 day time frame. The cleanse is used to expel from your body it’s current food addictions leaving it ready for a fresh start. Once the cleanse is completed, you’ll be able to choose healthier foods to sustain your body.

Upon completion of the fast, you’ll notice that you feel better and in turn will want to continue feeling this way. To keep your body feeling as it does you’ll now want to undertake a raw food diet. A raw food diet is simply a diet in which you consume organic vegetables and fruits throughout your day. What you should really focus on is eating every 2 to 3 hours. After you have been on this schedule for a short period of time, your body’s metabolic rate will increase promoting a higher rate of fat loss.

Something else you want to consider is integrating high intensity interval training. Any type of cardiovascular exercise will do but it needs to be high intensity for one minute. After completing one minute of high intensity training you’ll lower your intensity for the next two minutes. Repeat this process for eight to ten times until you reach thirty minutes in total. If you do this along with eating properly, you will be amazed with the amount of weight that you can actually lose in the span of one month.

Old Fashioned Dress Pants

June 20, 2008 By: PF Category: Weight Loss No Comments →

When I was a teenager, there was nothing you could do to get me into dress pants. I was always a jeans kind of girl, and I hated anything that was not made of denim. You would have an easier time getting me into a dress back then, and I would quite often get into fights with my mother over this issue. I was always self-conscious, and I always thought they made me look horrible. At least with jeans my small stomach could be held in, but that was never the case with dress pants, especially when my mom insisted I tuck in my shirt.

My mother always had many old fashioned ideas about dressing and how to wear your hair. She said if you aren’t slender, you should always have very short hair. I disagreed with this just as much as I disagreed with her about wearing dress pants. Though my weight problem at the time was very minor, there were other girls I knew who had a bit more to carry around. I always thought that hair should go with the face, not the body, and people should wear what they want. You couldn’t get me into dress pants and you couldn’t change my mind about hairstyles either.

It’s a good thing that I don’t have to dress up very often today, as I still can’t stand dress pants. They always look awkward on me and I am never comfortable. Though I know many would argue with me, I do think comfort should be number one. If you feel stupid in something it is going to show in your demeanor. Why would I want to wear dress pants if I feel like a frump in them? I’d much rather be a little under dressed than to spend the whole day wishing I could just go home and put on my jeans.

My daughter, on the other hand, doesn’t seem to mind dress pants. Maybe that is because they have come a long way since I was a kid, and she seems to not mind them. This is a girl that insisted on wearing a tutu to the grocery store, so perhaps I am jumping ahead of myself a bit. She may not have had time yet to decide if she likes dress pants, and perhaps sometime soon she’ll make up her mind for herself. They do look good if you are comfortable in them, but I do know that I will allow her to make up her own mind.

The First Step To Dieting

June 18, 2008 By: PF Category: Weight Loss No Comments →

Dieting for many people around the world intermingles with their everyday lifestyles. However, dieting can sometimes be very unhealthy if you make poor decisions simply to lose weight. Dieting can be healthy and effective or bad for your body, so it is crucial that you learn the difference between dieting in a healthy way and dieting in an unhealthy way. The foods you choose should help your body not hurt it.

The very first step to choosing the appropriate diet plan that works for you is to know your specific needs. What junk foods do you crave? What food groups do you not eat in high enough amounts? Are you trying to lose weight or gain muscles? All of these questions play a factor when you are trying to pick the perfect diet for you.

What you can do is immediately disregard any diet that says you have to eat only a single certain food. This is not healthy for your body, as there is no such thing as an all inclusive type of food. Diets that ask you to cut out an entire food group are probably also not very healthy. While it may be alright to cut back on your carbohydrate intake, certain types of carbohydrates are actually quite beneficial for your body. Some of the top diets programs will require you to eat foods from all of the main food groups, stay away from processed foods, foods which are low in nutrients and drink at least 8 glasses of water every day.
